- Aluka
- (Ah-LOU-ka)This vampiric GHOUL lives off carrion, human flesh, and blood. It is described as being able to cling, or stick, to the corpse as it feeds. It can only be removed from the body once it is slain. Since this vampire takes its name from one of the many Hebrew words that means "leach," it is often cited as being the father of the two daughters who cry "Give" in the biblical book of Proverbs.Source: Briggs, International Critical Commentary, 528; Delitzsch, Biblical Commentary, 28789, 29193; Pashley, Travels in Crete, 209
